Exporting Site to Self Hosted

    Hi, I am helping the owner of this blog, https://ascenicroute.wordpress.com/ move to self-hosting. She gave me the login information to her site, where I initiated the export ALL function in WP-Admin. I am not getting access to the download files. I understand email should have been sent to the owner with link to the downloads. I also understand a link to the downloads is supposed to appear on the page where the export is initiated. That link did not appear even after two hours from when i started the export. her site has 750 posts, so I am wondering if there is a malfunction to explain this problem.

    Any information you can provide will be much appreciated.

    Hi @larkwriter, with a larger site, we like to create the export and split it into smaller chunks for you. Usually the site owner will get an email with a link to the export files.

    Are you able to log in as a site admin, with your own username? The owner could add you as an admin using these steps:

    You’ll want to be sure you understand user roles, too:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

    Just know that won’t give you access to any upgrades the owner purchased, so when you’re ready to change the domain settings, you’d need to be logged in as them (or help them do it.)
