Exporting the content of the website to be re-hosted on an another platform
-
Hi, I am building a new website that should go online in early November, regarding a new scientific project that has just started. According to the guidelines of the funding agency of the project: ‘The web site shall be built is such a way that it is straightforwardly re-hostable (2 years after the end of the contract). All the web site build files shall be delivered at the end of the contract and again 2 years after the end of the contract (if modified) in view of being straightforwardly re-hosted in an another web host (for the posterity).’ Can I do this with WordPress?, i.e., Can I export the content of my Wodpress website to be re-hosted on an another platform?
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

I assume you do mean another platform rather than just a different host but still using wordpress?
If you wish to export wordpress content to another platform perhaps you need to approach that unnamed platform to see if hat is possible and find out what tools they have available for such an eventuality. You can certainly import content from other platforms TO WordPress.com

You’re probably asking in the wrong forum anyway if you don’t actually have a site here at WordPress.com.

Thanks for the feedback @magicrobot!
Well, I MIGHT build a website using WordPress if I get clearer about the possibility to export its content to be re-hosted at the web site of the funding agency after the project ends (for posteriority). That is why I raised the question in the first place (also because I could not fund a “support email” in the WordPress website to which I could send this question). -
To guarantee compatibility the easiest thing is to export wordpress content to a site hosted elsewhere that is also built with wordpress. There are a number of other platforms where you can build sites that may or may not accept a wordpress xml file but researching those is not within the remit of a forum that is designed for users of the free software here at WordPress.com
Why not build a free site here and experiment with the export file you can create here and see if it works at these ” other platforms”.
