exporting to self-hosted and need data base / wp content

  Hello,

  I am attempting to migrate my wordpress.com site to a self hosted site with GoDaddy. I did the manual xml file and would like to get pictures and videos uploaded as well. Basically, I would like to get the majority of my content migrated over and as of yet only have text content. Do I have to purchase this ability? If so, how much?

  Hi there!

  WordPress export files include references to images, not the actual images themselves. When you import the file into your new WordPress, it will automatically go and find your images.

  Are you having trouble with this?

  Well, I was thinking, my theme and widgets and such would transfer, but I am seeing a few pics and mostly just text content.

  Your theme and widgets are not included in WordPress export files. It looks like you were using Twenty Ten. If that theme is not already included in your WordPress install, you can download it here:

  As for your widgets, WordPress.com has several widgets that aren’t native to the standard WordPress install. You can add many of these to your site by installing Jetpack:
