Hi there!
I am trying to follow instructions from travel pod to bring my files to wordpress. They have formatted the files to fit wordpress eg. and XML document. I am getting an error message when I try to drag the file to wordpress .
As long as you followed the instructions in:
https://www.traveloca.com/travelpod-import-export.html
you are half way there!Lets see if we can get you going the rest of the way. I looked at Travelpod’s documentation and their description of how to import their XML files into WordPress match the WordPress Import instructions.
http://www.travelpod.com/blog/2017/05/15/wordpress-import-intructions/
OR
https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/will walk you through the steps you need to follow to import your Travelpod blog into WordPress!
Dragging and dropping files isn’t quite going to work :)
Give it a try, and if you run into any problems, give us a shout back
best,

Thanks Dave,
I have tried to walk through the travelpod instructions however once I go to settings to get to import my screen doesn’t have import or export tab option across the top, I have General, Writing, Discussion and Traffic. In the snapshot of the page they show import as one of the options … I tried to import by using the tools further down the page (under tools but that is where I had a problem with the file)
Any idea why I am not getting a tab for import? -
Are you logged in under the exact same username account that registered the WordPress.COM site?
http://ourtraveladventuressite.wordpress.com/wp-admin/import.php
If you are not logged in under the correct WordPress.COM username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account
If you did not register the site under your username account and do not have the required access you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them act or transfer the site to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

@jmjeans WordPress.com has been moving stuff around since those Travelpod instructions were produced. In The new(ish) “My Site” dashboard at “Settings” “General” you now scroll down to “Import” and “Export”.
In the older wp-admin dashboard “Tools” is still where you find “Import” and “Export”.

– has anyone been successful in transferring anything from Travel Pod to WordPress? (searched for jmjeans …from above but found nothing.)

Arrrgh!
Tried the suggestions by Timethief but it did not help.
Dave, I can get to the place (import) where there is an instruction to either drag the file or click to upload. Dragging doesn’t work, and when I click to up load it wants to upload all the files (which are separate blogs) and it is too large so it fails for that reason.
But I can’t seem to separate the individual files..

@timethief Did you mean this link?

Hi folks, everyone I’ve worked with on this has sorted it out. If you still need help, please go ahead and start a new thread with details of what’s happening when you try to import.
Then under tags, add “modlook” and “import travelpod” — we’ll see that and take a look. Thanks :)
