Exporting/importing specific comments only

  I recently moved an active WordPress web site from one domain to another.

  In between the database transfer and the new site launch, the client got a bunch of comments and pingbacks on his old site.

  Is there a way to export and then import ONLY the comments posted after a certain date into the new site?

  I do not want to re-import the posts/pages if necessary, ONLY the comments.

  Comments are attached to posts and pages and they cannot be separately exported and imported.

  Note that if you import again the software will detect the duplication and not duplicate the comments.

  That’s kind of what I thought, but was hanging onto some kind of futile hope. ;)

  So the way to do it would be to delete the posts and pages that got new comments, then reimport them?
