Exposing my blog on the navigation bar

  I’ve just created extremecare.wordpress.com and want to have my blog in a standard format (i.e.date posted etc.) accessible from the navigation bar on the site. I have created a blog page and put an editing window (allowing comments) but this just displays the text with no date for entries.
  I have put some posts in from the dash board>posts>add new. These are published and I can see them on the dash board and I can also see them if I search the site for ‘blog’ so I know that they are published. How do I create a link on the navigation bar so that users can link straight to the blog posts which are added in this way? Thanks very much for any help anyone can offer. Apologies if this is a stupid question……

  Hi. Are you following all of these instructions to set a static front page AND a blog page?
