Exposure?

I’ve just made my wordpress page and wish to expose it as quick as possible, for users to subscribe and comment on topics. What can I do apart from the obvious? (facebook, myspace and verbal discussion etc)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. See if you can secure free advertising on related popular related subject matter web sites and blogs and advertise the launch of your blog on them.
2. Become a guest blogger on related popular related subject matter web sites and blogs and their readers will click your link and visit your blog.
3. Join related popular related online groups and forums and become an active poster and other member will click your link and visit your blog.
4. Host a contest and or a give-away on your blog and get all your friends with blogs to let you publish a brief advertisement for it on their blogs as posts.
5. Participate in a related blog carnival or two and then host one http://blogcarnival.com/bc/ -
6. Set yourself a goal of leaving # __ of meaningful comments every day on related blogs and follow through. When you leave “meaty” comments their readers will click your link and visit your blog.
7. Publish a series of brief posts highlighting top blogs in the same niche as your own. The bloggers in question will click the trackback to your blog and some of their readers will too.There’s a theme here. The gold rule of social networking is give, give, give and give again before expecting to receive.
