  how to show my picture and contact information on my blog – so people can learn more about who i am and what i do and lend credibility to my blog?

  Create a static Contact page with a contact form or information and your photo.

  Um, I am a true beginner at blogs. So, as i type in create static content page, it doesn’t come up with how to. How do i, where do i go to create a static content page?

  Trial and error is good, but when in doubt, do a search of the Support documents: http://support.wordpress.com/

  Just make a page & put a contact form on it – both terms also work well in the link @raincoaster gave you
