Expound Theme: 4 Column Featured Post Layout not working.
-
I am trying to edit our blog with the Expound theme so that the featured content shows up in columns as it does in the Expound Demo. I have followed the instructions on the setup guide as follows:
Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
Enter the name of a tag.
Click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.
Your first five posts with the tag set above and a Featured Image will show up in the featured area, with the most recent being the primary featured post and the remaining four in columns beneath it, as shown in the demo.If you haven’t assigned a Featured Content tag to any posts, Expound will display up to five sticky posts in the featured posts area. If you have neither sticky posts nor any posts tagged with a Featured Content tag, your newest five posts will be displayed in the featured posts area.
All of the posts have featured images and are tagged with the tag that I set up. But they are still showing up in list form rather than in the columns. I’ve tried making them sticky but this does nothing. I’ve also tried editing all the featured posts together and changing the tab as described in some other areas of the forums and this does not work either. Any ideas on how to make this work?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, hotcblog
You’re presently using the Oxygen theme on http://blog.handsontwincities.org/. Are you referring to another website/blog?
I checked your most recent five posts. Only the latest one, “2015 Summer Volunteer Guide,” has tags displayed at the bottom of the post.* Those without featured content tags assigned will not display in the featured content area of the Expound theme. In other words, the feature content tag must be assigned to each post you wish to be displayed in the featured content area.
* One other post, “Presenting the 2015 ‘Be the Change’ Award Winners!,” is marked “featured” in the posts stream because it is a sticky post.

Hi musicdoc1,
I switched to Oxygen because I couldn’t get Expound to work. I had 5 posts tagged with the feature content tag but I removed them when I switched it to Oxygen. I followed all the instructions to a T, and also read tons of posts about the same issue, but none of those solutions worked for me either, so I gave up and chose a new theme.
Thanks.

Are you all set with Oxygen?
If you’d like to give Expound another try, I’d be glad to take a look at your site and walk you through the setup.
