EXPOUND THEME: Featured posts not put into grid (just put into list)

    Here is my site: https://www.facebook.com/apoliticalparadox/.

As you can see, posts are in a list, and not in a grid like they’re supposed to be. It doesn’t look the same.

I cannot find an answer at https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/expound/.

How do I fix this? :/

    Thanks so much!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

The WordPress.com site is https://apoliticalparadox.wordpress.com/. The Facebook site will not necessarily support special design elements of the original site.

    Regarding https://apoliticalparadox.wordpress.com/:
    The Expound theme guide says:

    Setting Featured and Primary Posts

    1. Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
    2. Enter the name of a tag.
    3. Click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.

Your first five posts with the tag set above and a Featured Image will show up in the featured area, with the most recent being the primary featured post and the remaining four in columns beneath it, as shown in the demo.

On the site https://apoliticalparadox.wordpress.com/, I find that of the five most recent posts, the primary featured post (top one) has a “featured” tag, one has a “featured.” tag (with a dot at the end), and the other three have no tags.

All of those you want to be featured must have the Featured Content tag that you set at Customize > Featured Content.

The issue is that the layout is messed up. I didn’t keep tagging them due to that.

How is the layout messed up?

Okay, for all those who find this post when having the same issue later…

I had to tag 4 posts with “featured” to make it start to show in the correct format.

I’m still having one post that won’t show up in the grid, though, even though it’s tagged the same: https://apoliticalparadox.wordpress.com/2016/11/22/how-could-a-rapist-be-elected-president/

The layout was in a list instead of a grid. See how it’s back in a grid now? It looks like it’s supposed to… except that one post isn’t showing up in the grid.

The one you mention is displayed among the others. The site now has five featured content posts displayed.

I hadn’t failed to notice that. In fact, I provided an explanation for the issue you described in the OP, and the remedy in my first post above, where I said:

It randomly started showing up after a while without any extra changes.

I think it just had to resync or something?

    Thanks for responding!

Really? Then why did you say above,

Okay, for all those who find this post when having the same issue later…

I had to tag 4 posts with “featured” to make it start to show in the correct format.

This is what I’d said to do in my first post here. And it began working properly after you did it. You’re welcome!

I was discussing the last issue, where the 5th featured post was still missing until everything synced up on its own with time.
