Expound theme – first five posts not showing up in featured area

Hi, I am testing Expound theme on my private blog. I am following the direction to set the first five posts in the featured area. However, only one shows up as the primary in the featured area (the last post). The rest of the four are not showing up. I am using the tag “featured” (without quote) in the Customize section, and my posts have featured images as well. What could be wrong?

I am having the same or a very similar problem…I somehow managed to set up my first two “featured” posts when I switched to Expound, but now can’t successfully set a third one, even though I tagged it “featured” like the other two. (all three have a featured image.)
My first two featured posts are very old ones, one is the first post I ever made, my “welcome” post, and the other is the most basic tutorial on my (instructional) blog, my “Start Here” tutorial. Maybe that is the problem? That those posts are so old? But if featured posts can only be the most recent ones, it seems kind of stupid to have to go through the effort of marking them “featured” etc!
The third post that I tagged as featured is actually fairly recent – the second most recent one I’ve posted: More square braid color set-ups.

Hi, I should update this thread from my end.
I encountered this issue several times, and I have been able to resolve them by following the steps:
From the Customize section …
1. Delete the featured tag. Save.
2. Re-add the featured tag. Save. -
Wow, thanks! Actually, when I went to the ‘customize’ section I didn’t have to delete anything, the window for adding the name of the tag was empty (even though I had originally set and saved the tag name to be ‘featured’), so I just typed in featured and saved it again. It worked, now my third featured post is up top!
This seems a little convoluted to have to do this every time I post, but I’m grateful to know how to deal with it, thanks again…
