Expound theme, number of featured items on home page

  I have the Expound theme for my blog gilliessmithmedia.org.
  It’s great. Perfect for my needs.
  With the featured items, is there a way I can get an old post still featured in the top five on the Home page, even though the publishing date is not one of the most recent five posts?
  Also, is there a way of getting more than five featured items on the Home page, for example having two rows of four featured items below the hero post on the Home page?

  Hi Michael,

  Expound is limited to only displaying five featured items.

  There isn’t an “easy” way to have an out-of-date post show as featured. The closest workaround would be to:

  • Choose via the Appearance->Customize->Featured Content, a tag that doesn’t exist.
  • Make the five posts you want to appear in the Featured area as “Sticky“
  • Manually adjust which posts are sticky as needed to ensure that there are only the five you want (or at least the five most recent stickies are what you want to be listed)

  It isn’t the smoothest process, but can get you what you’re looking for.
