extend functionality of display-posts shortcode

    Dear WP,

    Please extend the functionality of the display-posts shortcode to include the display of categories and tags. It can already display title, date and excerpt, so why not categories and tags?

    Some combinations of themes and post formats (eg, link posts in Twenty Twelve) don’t display the categories and tags of the current post. The display-posts shortcode could be used in these circumstances to get around the problem, giving the author more flexibility.

    Please consider. What do you think?
