Extending storage space capacity on my blog please.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Dear Staff,
I have a blog where I have been posting daily since 2009. It is principally a photography blog and because of this I have now reached 90% of my allowed storage space. I understand that it is possible to pay for additional storage space, but I do not know how to go about making that happen. Would it please be possible to be put in contact with the correct staff members in order that I can keep my blog running please?
    Many Thanks in advance…

    Hello @otpidusprime,

Thank You so much for your quick reply.

I saw the “WordPress.com personal” option for $2.99 per month (billed yearly), but (stupid question) does that mean I go from having a free blog to a paid one if I subscribe ? (from WordPress.com to WordPress.org?)

I wish to keep my blog exactly as it is, just with more storage space, and not go “professional” or make money from my blog, does that make sense? (another stupid question) Will subscribing to the $2.99 Personal option do that please?

Apologies for the slowness of my thinking, I had an accident the result of which I take morphine based pain relief and do not concentrate or remember things well. Thank you so much for baring with me :)

When you subscribe to a plan you are just upgrading your site with some additional features(as mentioned on that page). You do not move from WordPress.COM to WordPress.ORG if you upgrade. They both are different products hosted on different servers.

You can find out the differences between them here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Yes subscribing to personal option will automatically upgrade the storgade space of your site you do not have to do anything for that. Regarding the rest of the features, they are all free when you upgrade – whether you want to use them or not is upto you.

    Hello @otpidusprime,

Thank You for your clear description of what the “personal” upgrade involves, much appreciated!

Sadly it looks like the damage from my accident is permanent, after 6 years I can live with wheelchairs and crutches (very short distance), as long as we could get the 24/7/365 pain aspect better under control.

I’m taking part in an experimental trial of new drugs… there is “some” benefit but not yet enough, but I am on a list for a further study so it’s a matter of fingers crossed, keep looking and taking each day as it comes. Some days are beyond difficult but during my many hospital visits I have come to know many people who are worse off that me, it doesn’t help my pain but it does help keep things in perspective. I have a lot of family support and a lot to be grateful for, so we keep looking for solutions and take everything else day by day r hour by hour if necessary. Keeping positive helps keep you sane :)

Today is a “better” day… yesterday wasn’t… you learn to deal with it.
I wish you an excellent day… I am off to subscribe to the Personal subscription, I very much appreciate your kindness and clear information. Thanks mate !

p.s. jump up and down an be thankful that your legs work for me, we take so much for granted until we loose it. Take care.
