extending the post’s background field
-
hello very helpful fellow bloggers!
i have tried to find a way to extend the coloured background’s field that is behind my post because my writing is longer and it looks untidy… – i cannot find a place where i can change the colour of the background of my individual post or extend it to provide adequate background for those long lines i prefer to have.
oh, and i am also looking for a way to change the color of the general background of my page.it may not be as complicated as i believe it to be but i am very new to the site!
thank you so much for any advice you may be able to give…

If this is the blog you are talking about, http://mademoisellevivianne.wordpress.com/ , the post (wrapper) background area will expand with the length of the posts as required.
Lines of text will automatically wrap within the defined content area when they reach the right side of the content area.
To change the color of the post area (wrapper) requires the paid CSS upgrade. Do you have the upgrade?

hello Thesacredpath!
thank you so much for responding to my question!
i did but the CSS upgrade (the basic one but i believe it is an upgrade?) unfortunately i am so clueless about it i do not even know what those initials stand for (shame, i know..)
i have been browsing to find a link that would hide the answer to how i can change those colours but i only stumbled on the background, the external link colours and the hover colours etc…
no option could be found that would allow me to change any other colours.
what am i missing? ;-)for some reason the line of the text within the comment box did not wrap around the specified area at all but kept running over the edge of the page. looks funny but i do not seem to care for it.

This is the link to the documentation on the CSS upgrade which is a paid option http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/ What thesacredpath needs to know is if you have purchased it or not. This option is never recommended to those who do not have CSS editing experience, as there is no Staff support for learning how to do CSS editing http://en.support.wordpress.com/editing-css/

It didn’t wrap because there are no spaces. WordPress cannot figure out where to break the line. Never just pound on the keyboard for “dummy” text in a post or page or comment. Use actual words, spaces and such otherwise you will not get a real representation of what things will look like.
With the CSS upgrade, there isn’t any official support for it and few here in the forums that know anything about it, so it is always best to learn it before you start trying to customize the look of a blog.
To change the background color of the post area, the following would do it:
#wrapper { background:#FFFFFF none no-repeat scroll 0 0; }Change the #FFFFFF to the hexadecimal color code you want to use.
