External domain URL gets rewritten on page load
-
Hello,
I have a domain with Cloudflare as both the registrar and the authoritative DNS. I’ve configured my Cloudflare records to point to WordPress’s servers via both A records and a couple CNAMEs that I’d like to have. One CNAME is blog.brianhomelab.com. The blog. CNAME does redirect to my WordPress site, but it rewrites the URL to the wordpress.com URL. How do I keep my blog showing my domain rather than the WordPress.com subdomain?
The http://www.brianhomelab.com CNAME seems to point to WordPress but the page won’t load and it looks like it might have a redirect loop.
I’ve tried following WordPress’s ‘Alternate’ instructions and then verifying the DNS entries but it keeps coming back with an error.
I do have a paid plan with WordPress currently.
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I’m showing you cancelled your WordPress.com Personal plan back in March. Without a paid plan, you would not be able to point the domain to your WordPress.com site and it will redirect to the free WordPress.com URL. I’d recommend repurchasing the Personal plan and we can help troubleshoot your domain connection issue.
To use your subdomain “blog.brianhomelab.com,” we have more specific instructions here that might be useful:
A subdomain has an extra piece of text before your main domain. For example, if your domain is yourgroovydomain.com, you can create subdomains such as blog.yourgroovydomain.com and shop.yourgroovydomain.com which you can use with a separate website. This guide will show you how to connect a subdomain to your site.
