Why are there thousands of free wp plugs ins available on other WP hosting services like Blue host for the same price as WPs own Premium plan, but you have to be on a business plan at WP in order to get custom plugin functionality?

Hi –
This is a good question. There’s 2 different versions of WordPress. What we offer at WordPress.com is a managed environment. This means we take care of the nitty gritty details required for you to have a successful site. Things like SEO, back ups, security, and so on… We also include your hosting and your access to dedicated support team for assistance.
When using the open source, community maintained, WordPress installation, all of that falls to you. There’s not dedicated support, but a volunteer forum https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ The entirety of the site falls to you.
Read more about the differences here:
Additionally, here are the getting started materials. Picking the right version of WordPress depends on your project and experience level. As I said above, using the open source installation is far more hands on and complicated for someone who is just getting started.
WordPress.com: https://learn.wordpress.com/
WordPress.org: https://codex.wordpress.org/Getting_Started_with_WordPressThe ability to incorporate plugins requires a different infrastructure from our end and this is why the business plan is required. It also comes with 24/7 live chat support.
Write back with more questions. We’re always close by and happy to help.

You mean you only take care of seo in your business plan right?
Because I can’t even find my site on a web search. Seems rather pointless to be using WordPress at all
