external image issue when sharing with Tumblr

    I’m on wordpress.com. I have automatic post links to most social media including Tumblr. A while back the Tumblr posts that are linked to WP changed and now don’t have any image from the post. Instead it shows two ‘external image’ captions but there’s actually no image.

    If I manually click on ‘external image’, two images appear. If I go back in later, the ‘external image’ captions are back.

    Please help.
