External link after upgrade

    Hi,

I have been using the free domain from wordpress.com for quite a number of years, and I wish to turn it from abcde.wordpress.com to abcde with the $18 per year upgrade. However, I have a few concerns regarding the switch.

What happens when someone goes to abcde.wordpress.com? Does it direct to abcde.com automatically?

How about other pages? Does every pages and posts get auto directed too? Say, from abcde.wordpress.com/about to abcde.com/about? And, from abcde.wordpress.com/2015/10/25/post1/ to abcde.com/2015/10/25/post1/?

If I were to cancel the upgrade in the future and want to go back to abcde.wordpress.com from abcde.com, does it auto direct again?

    Thank you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you want to go from one example.wordpress.com domain to another example2.wordpress.com domain (both end in .wordpress.com) then you don’t need to pay for an upgrade and you can change the name by following these instructions:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

If you want to add a custom domain, that is the one where a fee is charged and you purchase a custom name such as example.com.

In either of those cases, the posts and pages will automatically be redirected to the new name.
