External Protocol URLs
-
I would like to create a link in my blog to local content.
I have a Bible app on my iPad I would like to link to from a calendar table I have created at rjbbrooks.wordpress.com. Here is an example link: olivetree://bible/genesis%201%201.
On my iPad, this should open up my Bible app, but it doesn’t. The problem seems to be that WordPress doesn’t do external protocol urls correctly. It strips off the “olivetree:” component; thus breaking the URL. I found a technote at wordpress.org, but don’t know how to implement it here. Here is the link:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/external-protocols-in-blogrolllinks-manager. Anybody have any idea how to do this? Is this even possible on wordpress.com, or do I need to have my own wordpress.org site? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Here’s the link for the iOs forum for the WordPress app so you can post there and make our WordPress developers aware of your iPad issue. http://ios.forums.wordpress.org/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to to those forums.
