Extra line breaks for poems

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi!
I use the Redoable Lite theme and am totally unable to get a blank line between poem paragraphs. I did follow the help suggested in

Four Features to Publish Your Poems

and tried the   for extra line breaks, but it does not reflect in preview.
    Request suggestions and help. Thanks!

  • Hi there,

Whatever you mentioned trying above appears to have been stripped out by the forums. Are you referring to the nbsp character in the HTML?

And are you referring to your draft post, पुलिंदा ?

I don’t see any non-breaking spaces in that post. It appears you’ve added in div tags, but those won’t create blank lines. If you want to add in line breaks, those need to be added in the HTML view of the editor, and they should be on their own lines in order to create a blank line. Using them inline with other content will just create a space as it did in your forum post above.

For poetry it’s best to use preformatted text – in the editor where it says Paragraph, click and select the Preformatted option. Any spaces or blank lines you type with that style selected will not be stripped out by the editor.

Thanks very much! Will try the preformatted text as suggested.
