Extra line breaks to create white space

  I am trying to add extra line breaks to create white space between paragraphs on a page. I have tried SHIFT+ENTER in the visual editor and
  inthe HTML editor, neither are working.
  Any suggestions on how to add these extra line breaks?

  Hello there,

  If you want more blank space between paragraphs, you cannot do it by pressing return repeatedly, because the HTML web standard is no multiple line breaks (no multiple spaces either).
