Extra line in "Blogs I follow"
-
For my “Blogs I follow” widget, I have it set up with a list display. It is making the first list item as a blank so just “1.” with no corresponding. I have checked all the settings and everything is fine. Does anyone have any ideas? It’s not a major problem but just annoying. Thanks for the help!

Looks like a bug in the numbering to me. I just tested it in my demo blog with 20 sites I follow and the numbering goes from 1 – 0 and then starts from 1 again.
I’ll go ahead and tag this for Staff attention. Please be patient.

I found the issue. Apparently, the most recent blog to which I had subscribed has something wrong with their name or they did not indicate a name for their blog. I unfollowed the blog and everything is now fine. Thanks again for the assistance!

Glad you found the solution to your issue! Some themes allow you to hide the site title text from displaying in favor of using only an image header, but doesn’t disturb the underlying meta tags of the site. From the sound of it, apparently the site you followed simply deleted the site title.
Since the weird numbering thing is still going on on my test site using Twenty-Ten, I’ll go ahead and leave the Staff assist tag on this thread.
If Staff would like to see screenshots, they’re in the Media Library for ablogdemo. (20120812-blogsIfollow, 1 and 2)

Ah, that makes sense. I’m not sure if there’s anything we can do about that, maybe we could just display the URL in those cases.
We’ll look into it!

Ah, I see the problem now. The numbers aren’t restarting at 0, rather the first digit is being cutoff.
I’ll see what we can do about that too, thanks!
