Extremely frustrating: I cannot log into my account for my web site!
-
Please help. I cannot access my greg.langlois.com WordPress account. When I tried to log in, WordPress would not recognize my email address. I had to create a new account, using the same email address, in order to post here (greglangloisdotcom)! I have a paid WordPress account and used live chat before to help with an issue when building my site. But on this new account, I can’t get live support. This is extremely frustrating. I need to talk to someone at WordPress. Help!!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

greg.langlois.com is hosted by Tucows.com Co
IP Address: 64.99.80.121To be crystal clear about the cause of your frustration become keenly aware of what follows please.
That site is not on WordPress.COM servers. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, and many people get confused about the two.
The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
This is wordpress.COM support. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

My website, greglanglois.com, says “WordPress.com” at lower left. I get the same error message when I try to log into WordPress.org: “ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.”
I bit the bullet and signed up for for premium service on this new WordPress.com account, greglangloisdotcom, so that I could use live chat support. Where is the button to sign on to live chat? I used it before when working on greglanglois.com — so now I’ve paid for premium service twice.
I have no idea what Jetpack is, I’m vaguely aware that there’s a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. I’m not a techie. I just want a simple site. They shouldn’t make it this hard!

Thank you. I’m getting updates to this to my email, so I’m subscribed.
So what I need done is:
– Be able to sign into my greg.langlois.com WordPress account.
– Get rid of the new account I had to create, greglangloisdotcom.com.
– Get my email associated with the greg.langlois.com
– Get the premium account under greglangloisdot.com canceled. (I signed up for premium on greglangloisdotcom.com in order to access live chat support, but I cannot find a link to launch that.I appreciate your help. This is just very frustrating, and I’m not a techie, so I don’t get a lot of this.

Hi there,
What site exactly are you trying to access? In your first post you said greg.langlois.com, and in a next you said greglanglois.com. Those are two completely different domains and sites.
greg.langlois.com is neither registered with nor connected to WordPress.com in any way. That domain appears to be currently parked with Tucows domains, and does not have any site at all showing at it.
greglanglois.com was registered on WordPress.com in January of this year, and belongs to the username, gregorylanglois. If that’s the site you want to access, you need to log in as that username to do it. If you don’t remember the password for that username, you can find our password reset and account recovery instructions here:
Let me know if I must cancel and refund the plan you bought for this account, greglangloisdotcom, as you don’t actually need, or it appears want that.

I see there’s an open email ticket from you as well. I’ll reply to you there, as we can’t help with account access issues in the public forums.

I was able to use the chat feature using the new account I created, and the person was able to fix the problem. It turned out it was a dumb error on my part. Sorry for the harsh tone. I get frustrated when tech things don’t go right because I don’t think I have the know-how to solve them. Thanks for your help.

No worries. Account access issues are frustrating, and not helped by the fact that we need to be strict to prevent people gaining unauthorised access to account through social engineering. I’m glad you got it sorted out.
