  Hey there, my webpage is listed on my facebook page.. and I’m wondering does the stat counter include hits from facebook? or is it only Word press users?

  I’m not sure how the blog posts are displayed on Facebook, but I believe hits are counted every time the little smiley face on your blog is viewed (“Angela”). If Facebook displays the blog layout including that little image, then yes, each Facebook view would count as a hit. If it only rips the text out and doesn’t show images in the Theme, then it won’t.

  If you are just listing your blog’s URL as a link in your Facebook profile info, then people will have no other choice but to follow the link to your WordPress site–which means that the stat counter will get them regardless of whether or not they are WordPress users or not.

  If you are importing your blog posts to Facebook as notes using RSS, then as far as I know WordPress will have no way to keep stats since the note will not contain any theme info (RSS generally strips that out). What you can do is setup your RSS feed in WordPress (and maybe in Facebook too, I forget) so that it only provides Facebook with a summary of your post and forces users to visit WordPress to read the entire thing.

  Thanks guys….yes the facbook application takes a little picture of the blog, with the link underneath, and pastes it on the page..
