too much of my stories is appearing on facebook, twice. Once as a post and then a direct link to wordpress but with huge chunks of my story already there. How can I just keep it to the wordpress link? And reduce the amount of the post actually displayed? I only want the title and my wordpress profile pic to appear as a link.

It sounds like you’re describing the post preview displayed on Facebook. If you’re posting to Facebook via Publicize that preview is generated automatically by Facebook and there’s nothing you can do on the WordPress side to prevent it.
The only way you can control this is by not posting via Publicize but pasting the link to each new post into Facebook manually. Facebook will still generate the preview, but you will have the chance to delete it before the post is published.
