Facebook and my blog

  • Unknown's avatar

Can anyone tell me why my facebook friends can’t like my blog without needing to log in with a wordpress account? I have checked all my settings and they should be able to go to my blog and like and comment that way but they can’t. A box appears asking them to log in?

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • The Like button on your posts is a WordPress.com Like button, not a Facebook like button. This means your posts can only be liked by other WordPress.com users who are logged in to their accounts. So when they click Like button, you know who they are.

Anyone will be able to comment on your posts without having to login; Facebook friends or not. They just need to leave their name and email address.

You can integrate your Facebook and your blog by following these instructions://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/

Adding Facebook Like button is not one of the options. You can however let your Facebook friends share your posts by providing a handy sharing option. Here are the instructions for enabling sharing options on your blog: https://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/

Give them a try and feel free to ask if you have more questions :)

    Hi,

The default comment login for visitors in the comment form is their WordPress.com account. To enable social media logins, ask to your friends to click anywhere in the comment form on a post, then to click on “Change” (next to the “Log Out” prompt).

This will open the comment form in full and allow readers to reply using their social media accounts.

    Happy blogging!
