facebook and twitter buttons

  I know this is probably so obvious, but what do the numbers by the fb/twitter buttons mean on each blog post? The number of times someone has pressed it – but does that mean that the post gets posted on their twitter or facebook?

  Presumably one clicks the buttons to share them on Twitter or Facebook and sharing buttons reflect the number of times they have been clicked. Whether or not that actually takes place is up to you to verify.

  thanks for the link – my numbers are tiny 4-15 or so, so I think that some fb friends read the post and like it. But I don’t know if that means that the post is then referred to on their fb page or not.

  Not sure I’m explaining myself very clearly..

  We cannot track individuals who click sharing buttons.

  I didn’t want to track them, I wanted to know what the outcome was for the click – does it show up on the person’s fb page/twitter, or is it just a ‘click’. Maybe I’ll click on someone else’s post I like and see what happens on my fb page!
