Facebook auto sharing even with disconnected account
-
My wordpress blog automatically shares my new posts on Facebook, even though I always go into the “Publicize” section and uncheck Facebook. So to try to fix this I disconnected my facebook page from wordpress by going into the “Settings” next to “Publicize”. It still posts them! How do I stop it from doing this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Are you speaking of the posts going to the https://www.facebook.com/MQGem/ page on Facebook? Our logs show that connection has been active since 2015, and I don’t see any entries in your site logs that there has been attempts to disconnect that Facebook page.
To disconnect the page from your site you need to go to My Site ->Sharing and disconnect from there. The Publicize settings in the editor only controls how Publicize acts for that specific post, though if Facebook was unchecked when you clicked Publish on a post it should not have shared it.
Are you using the editor at My Site ->Blog Posts or the one in WP-Admin? If you don’t want to completely disconnect but just want to figure out why it’s not respecting the per-post settings, please let me know. Also clear your browser cache, or even log in using a completely different browser before creating your next post, and check if that makes any difference when you uncheck the Facebook option and publish the post.

Thank you for your response. Yes, you infer correctly the Facebook page I was referring to. It is interesting that you say there are no logs to show my attempts to disconnect the Facebook page. That would certainly explain the problem. When I look at my end, I see this which is what makes me think I have disconnected the page. This is what Publicize -> Settings shows me. What is this view trying to convey to me if not that my page is disconnected?

Following your instructions, I went to My Site -> Sharing, and discovered that it takes me to the same page as the Publicize Settings in the editor which leaves me somewhat confused as you said that page only controlled how Publicize acted for that specific post.
One other piece of information that might be relevant is that I schedule my posts rather than publishing them. However, give that I uncheck Facebook, I would assume it shouldn’t share regardless of how my post gets published.
I use the WP-Admin editor (far superior to the other one). I am happy just to figure out how to disconnect Facebook at this point. I have a different solution to sharing my posts on social media, so I don’t intend using WordPress to share to Facebook directly, I just need to make it stop.
If there is any way you can disconnect my Facebook profile from your end, I would also welcome that.

Okay, I’ve deleted that connection from our end.
If you want to try reconnecting you might also need to delete the connection on Facebook’s end first: Go to Facebook Settings and click Business Integrations in the sidebar menu. You should see WordPress listed there and be able to delete it.
