Facebook blocking of WordPress post

  I published a post yesterday and a journalist is attempting to share it on Facebook. It was blocked by Facebook. This is what they wrote: “They’re telling me ‘the content you’re trying to share includes a link that our security systems detected to be unsafe.'” They suggest that I “check with your site admin that there’s no issue with malware on your WordPress backend, since that could also be the issue.” Time is crucial. Can you help me get this straightened out?

  Hi!

  Not sure if you solved the problem but a couple solutions:
  1. Use the Facebook Link Debugger to see if there is anything problematic with the post. If not, you can let Facebook know and request to unblock it.

  2. You could try a URL shortner.

  Thanks, pcosta88. Facebook has been notified of the problem, so we’ll see what happens there.

  I’ll try the bitly as well.

  My friends who are on Facebook (I’m not) are still blocked. They tried using the bitly.

  I don’t see how there can be any security problem on WordPress’s side since I’ve received many views over the past two days and no one has reported a problem. But I want to check on that.

  I realize that I’m not a premium member, but Facebook is now blocking WordPress posts on the grounds that they are unsafe. Could someone at WordPress check this? I’m virtually certain that there is no malware problem on WordPress’s side, but it would be helpful for everyone on WordPress, I think, to hear that from WordPress staff.

  In the first sentence of that last post, I meant to write that my friends are blocked from posting a link to my blog on Facebook.

  The same thing happened to me today. I tried to share a link to a fairly innocuous WordPress blog post about a charity fundraising trek, and Facebook informed me the link was unsafe and asked me to submit a Captcha before posting.

  Even after completing the Captcha it still displays a warning message after the link is clicked, which is hardly going to encourage anyone to click through to it:

  The Facebook Link Debugger reveals nothing untoward, and I’ve tried submitting it using a bitly short URL with the same result.

  Any ideas – is this a general problem with WordPress blogs shared to Facebook?

  Hi

  I had this problem for about 6 months, I sent screen shots to Facebook and messaged them about 50 times. There is no contact for them, so how I got around it was by contacting the sales team to advertise, and proceeded to tell them I couldn’t advertise until I could share my link……2 days later it was all fixed :)
