Facebook Commenting Feature for WP.com?

Are there any plans to add a Facebook commenting feature to WP.com? I’m NOT talking about the ability to comment with your FB login. I know that’s there. I’m talking about what I’ve seen on WP installed blogs where the comments can go directly to the commenters’ FB stream.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you ever did that to me, I’d never comment on your blog again. I speak for a lot of people.

@raincoster – I’m not understanding your comment. If I ever did what to you? Was this aimed at Sl1k? Confused.

My comment is meant to let you know that millions of people keep their FB and their blogging lives separate, for many good reasons. Taking comments posted in one “safe space” and posting them to an entirely different, googleable space, will upset people, particularly if there is no warning their comments (under their real names) will show up in the blogosphere.

Believe me, I understand the frustration of wanting to drag those FB comments over to your blog, but it’s not worth the cost in the sense of betrayal among those whose comments you imported.

Ah. I see. The features set I’ve seen allows the commenter to turn off posting to FB, like here:

But I get what you’re saying. I like the interactive comment feature set now. I just thought having some comments post to FB would help increase traffic.

    Thanks.

Oh, no one actually answered the question though. Is WP.com planning to add that functionality?

Only staff can answer that, and they’re gone till the 15th.

  • There are no plans to integrate Facebook Comments with WordPress.com at this time.
