Facebook connect needed on WordPress.
-
I have had a blog for about 8 months now and While my overall views per day are up. I notice I have not one subscriber. The content is on par with most blogs and overall I don’t think its bad. I started thinking about it and the real issue is when signing up for WordPress most expect to write a blog. Therefore very few people are capable of subscribing casually and/or are likely do to so. Something such as the new Facebook connect will allow users to subscribe and contribute comments while not feeling too much on the production side of things. Obviously this has been very successful on many other website and I hope this is integrated soon.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For starters I can’t see how to subscribe to your blog. Putting the Subscribe Widget would probably help people subscribe..

I have added the widget, but still people must be logged in to subscribe and subscribers of WordPress. As I’m sure your well aware there is the subscribe button on the personal dashboard for WordPress. Meaning even clicking subscribe will still make users have to sign up. I don’t find its a big deal for users to sign up but something such as wordpress is more so background interface that touches on those lines to be accessible to the public easily. Again, Facebook connect or possibly a Google log into only to subscribe, comment, and follow would be beneficial to all parties involved.

Sorry I don’t really understand Facebook and such. There are ways to connect with Facebook – this might help: http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/
There is also a way to put Facebook in your sidebar but I have not bothered to figure it out.
However by limiting the subscriptions to WordPress.COM accounts you were limiting yourself to 18,000,000 people or so and not the over one billion or whatever that have internet access. I think adding the Subscription Widget will help –

On April 22, 2010 Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced today that Facebook will be launching their new Open Graph protocol and APIs, eliminating Facebook Connect, according to Mashable, via the F8 conference.

Aux class wordpress I believe your mistaken there are 18 million blogs only about 500k users. Hopefully we see the implementation of what we have discussed here.

nfortunately for you I’m in the last realm of time and you wouldn’t want my time anyways it’s ocvered in unrefined gold or what some may call…dirt or chlorine flavored seman.
I don’t know what you first sentence to me is expressing. I do know that Facebook Connect has major issues. So big that Facebook is replacing it with their new Open Graph protocol and APIs.
See here for clarity as wordpreess.com has already implemented some of this.
We actually have implemented some aspects of the Open Graph protocol sitewide.
You cannot add additional Open Graph markup yourself though, no.https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/open-graph-protocol?replies=4

Not at all. Visitors not logged into WordPress.com will see a space in the widget to enter their email address before hitting the subscribe button.
