Facebook considers my blog "unsafe" for no reason

  • Unknown's avatar

I write a blog using WordPress and have no issues until recently. When clicking on a link to my blog, I am getting a warning notice: “The link you are visiting: http://nblo.gs/SJgCp Facebook thinks this site might be unsafe. If you are not familiar with it, please provide feedback by marking it as spam (you will be brought back to Facebook).” This does not occur using Chrome. I have written to Facebook and received no reply . Please advise. -K

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Howdy,

That particular link is trying to visit your site through a third-party (Networked Blogs), which is likely what Facebook is warning about.

Is the same notice returned when you share your direct URL ( http://amuletsbymerlin.me/ )?

    Cheers!

When using the link you use, the warning is not evident, however if I use a direct link to the latest blog:
    http://wp.me/pxYkh-U8
    the warning comes up again
This is a recent development – I blog to help promote my work – I cannot use the links generated by WP without the warning from Facebook. I contacted Facebook about this and so far received no reply as of yet.

is it possible I can be issued a new URL?

so far, these warning only happen when using Firefox as a browser

  • Hope you had a good weekend.

I’m checking more into it. When posting that exact link, I can reproduce the warning from Facebook. When trying any other http://wp.me shortlink, I’m not seeing the error.

Is this occurring on all http://wp.me links to your site, or only that particular one.

In the meantime, I would suggest manually posting the full link http://amuletsbymerlin.me/2014/01/10/drum-of-fire-amulet/

At the end of the day, it is up to Facebook on what they consider possibly troublesome content. We’ll see what we can do though.

    Cheers!
