Facebook Counter Displaying The Wrong Share Counts

  There is something wrong with my Facebook counter. Based on the statistics the post (http://guanyinmiao.wordpress.com/2014/06/09/the-man-of-the-protest-moment/) has gotten 2,000-odd views, with 1,500 of them coming from Facebook. From my personal networks the post has been shared quite frequently, but the Facebook counter is stuck at 7.

  For comparison, a post last week (http://guanyinmiao.wordpress.com/2014/05/19/heart-truths/) which gathered around the same hits and statistics has 117 shares.

  How do I rectify this? This is a socio-political blog, so the share count is quite important (i.e. if the share count is high, others are more likely to share it too). Thanks!

  Hi there,

  Currently, it looks like the Facebook counter is updating properly. I just shared the post in question to my Facebook profile and the counter jumped from 12 to 13. Just a note, although visitors may be coming to your post from Facebook, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are in turn sharing the post on their own Facebook profile. For the moment, it looks like the button is working correctly. However, if you share the post on Facebook and notice the count does not jump, please let me know!
