Facebook doesn't pick up any preview picture from my wordpress.com blog post

I am trying to link a words press.com post to Facebook, as usual. It is not picking up any image from the post to use as a preview. I notice my images say rel=’noopener’><img on them, and when I remove it it goes back in. Is this related to my problem?

Have you tried using the Facebook debugger?We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.

There is a known issue with facebook at this moment. Please refer to this forum post by Staff in the premium theme forum, which is relevant for everyone, and which contains a workaround: https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/topic/featured-image-doesnt-show-when-post-to-facebook?replies=13#post-112057
Staff will update that post once it is resolved.

According to the bug report on Facebook this has been fixed:

I’m also not aware of any new reports on our end, but feel free to tag any new threads with reports of this.

When I try to post to Facebook, it picks up my last Instagram picture. Anyone else having this problem. This is only on Facebook.
