Facebook Fan Box / Text Widget Problem
-
Whenever I try to paste this code…..
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://static.ak.connect.facebook.com/js/api_lib/v0.4/FeatureLoader.js.php/en_US”></script><script type=”text/javascript”>FB.init(“45ad06a7c41d0edbd304d03589cd01ff”);</script><fb:fan profile_id=”203251541563″ stream=”1″ connections=”” width=”300″></fb:fan><div style=”font-size:8px; padding-left:10px”>Blueshirt Dirt: A New York Rangers Blog on Facebook </div>
…..into the “Text” Widget in the Appearance section….it turns the code into this:
FB.init(“45ad06a7c41d0edbd304d03589cd01ff”);<div style=”font-size:8px;padding-left:10px;”>Blueshirt Dirt: A New York Rangers Blog on Facebook </div>
Why does it do this and how can I fix it so I can add the Fan Box Widget to my page. Thanks!
-Frank
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is javascript and javascript is not allowed here due to security concerns.

Is there a supported alternative format? Or is is currently impossible to have a facebook fan box on a wordpress.com blog?

We cannot use javascript on our wordpress.com blogs. If we do the software will strip it out to preserve security, as we are all working on a wpMU (multiuser) blogging platform. Please read the support documentation entry thesacredpath linked to on December 18th https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/facebook-fan-box-text-widget-problem?replies=6#post-412722
Bottom line > this is a no go at wordpress.com. If that’s a deal breaker for you then you will have to hire a web host and download a free software install from wordpress.org http://wordpress.org/support/.
