Facebook is displaying incorrect image when I share from wordpress
-
Please help. I am so confused.
I have a wordpress.com blog.
Everytime I share to facebook, an image which I am sure I have deleted from everywhere in my dashboard is used.
I have spent hours now looking at support and I’m so confused with talk of plug-ins and hosts. I think I may have just worked out my free wordpress.com site may not use them anyway.
I just manage my site through my dashboard. I don’t have anything installed on my laptop.
I would really appreciate some advice. I am a total novice and this issue is driving me mad.
At your mercy :) Please helpThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Forgot to say, have changed all my gravatars, avatars, blavatars etc. The original image doesn’t exist any more!
Pls help :) -
http://applesandrainbows.com/ is indeed a WordPress.com blog and that means (I’m afraid) that all the stuff you read about plugins and hosts does not apply to your blog.
It’s not hard to get technical help for your blog. You just have to look through the right documents and post in the right places, like this forum. Basically start with a search here http://support.wordpress.com/ and if that doesn’t turn up an answer, post in the forum.
Now, as to the image Facebook is displaying, that’s largely up to Facebook and out of our hands. Sometiems you can force FB to pick the image you want by making one image a featured image, even if your theme doesn’t normally use them.
Once you post to FB, however, FB takes a snapshot of your site and (as you’ve noted) no matter what you do after that, it always uses the same picture for the link. The thing to do is to flush the Facebook cache: http://umairj.com/146/how-to-clear-facebook-shares-cache/ and then you can paste the link and choose which image.
