Facebook jetpack module with electron requires cookies to be active
-
I am trying to connect a facebook account directly from the windows app wordpress.com However electron does not have the option to activate cookies, thus preventing me from login into facebook. If you can look into this, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advanced

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.me/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin. Note that Jetpack is a plugin used by WordPress.ORG bloggers to achieve parity with what we already have built into WordPress.COM blogs. A wordpress.COM account is required to run the Jetpack plugin, but we do not provide Jetpack support on these wordpress.COM support forums. Please direct Jetpack issues to where they can get Jetpack support.
re: Jetpack support
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

Thank you for your quick repply.
I believe this is relevant to wordpress.com for the following reasons:
1) I believe wordpress.com has the intention to offer the best quality possible regarding their wordpress.com software (windows app).
2) I believe they are using electron app to configure their app
3) Many delevopres who use electron have faced the issue regarding activating cookies…I have googled around and found out that there are several easy solutions regarding implementing the accept cookies feature…
If wordpress.com is officially not interested in having this feature implemented, they should avoid setting it up inside their app.
PS: This is not a jetpack issue since jetpack works like a charm.. it is about electron which is used inside the wordpress.com app not accepting cookies which are required to use the publize module, so if this feature is not to be implemented at all, it should not appear inside the wordpress.com app
Thanks for your attention

Thanks for reporting this. I have passed it onto the desktop app team who will dig into it.
