Facebook Like Button Not Working?
-
The Facebook Like button does not seem to be working.
When I attempt to “Like” my own post, the Facebook window pops up asking me to sign in, even though I am already signed in.
When I enter the correct Facebook password, the pop up window then disappears – nothing has happened and the post remains unliked.
I have also attempted this whilst logged out of WordPress and using a dummy Facebook account, to the same effect.
I’ve searched the web and see that other people seem to have been expereicning the same thing, but could not find a solution.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If the Facebook Like button really does not work I will simply remove it completely rather than clutter up each post and waste people’s time should they attempt to click on it!
Thank you :)

I found that the same problem was occuring with the Facebook ‘like’ button when I tried to ‘like’ posts on other people’s blogs on WordPress and also when I tried to ‘like’ articles on other sites which were using the same standard button.
I don’t know if this is a problem with Faceboook but decided to remove the Facebook ‘like’ button from my blog and replace it with the ‘Share’ button, which does work.

Go to Dashboard > Settings > Sharing.
Drag “Facebook” to the “Enabled Services” box.
In the drop down menu for “Button Style” select “Official Buttons”.
Save. The Official Button for Facebook is a “Like” Button.
Unfortunately I didn’t seem to be able to use it, maybe it is fixed now..
Good Luck! : ) -
