Facebook Like Details

Hey guys, I’ve enabled Facebook likes for my forum on WordPress.com, but I can’t seem to be able to see who all have liked the post.

Is there a way I can take a look at who has liked my post? I’d really like to take a look to see how far the network goes, I want to know if there are people outside my friends list who are liking the content as well.

If this is not possible to do, I think this should be enabled ASAP by WordPress.com, because I’m aware that there are plug-ins available for WordPress.org that allow you to take a look at who all have liked your content. And since plug-ins of any kind from any party are disabled at WordPress.com, this really needs to be done.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no way to do that as this is a privacy issue and that data is not available to us.

Interesting, wouldn’t that render the WordPress.org plug-ins that do display this data as illegal? There are tons of websites which have Facbook like buttons which also display which people like the particular page/content.

She didn’t say it was illegal. She said the info was unavailable to us.

The plug-ins, which I have on my site, don’t display private FB profile information. If the profiles are public, then they could display I suppose, but I’m more interested in Tweets, because you can thank people for rts, whereas you can’t post thanks to most people’s walls unless you’re Friends already.

True, but what I was really after is this, which I mentioned in my first post: “I’d really like to take a look to see how far the network goes, I want to know if there are people outside my friends list who are liking the content as well.”

In my experience, your Likes will come evenly from your friends and your non-friends, but it’s only anecdotal. If social media only allowed your existing networks to share things to the same network, it would hardly work.

Honestly, there is got to be a way to make this happen. Wix ‘s facebook widget displays liked your profile. Even if it’s only your friends, you want to be able to thank them!
