facebook link

Hi everyone. I have a fast question for you. If someone links to my blog from my facebook page, should it show up in my stats? I got an email this afternoon after posting this AM (after a long hiatus) saying that 18 people had read the post. But I only have 5 visits registering on my blog. Can someone please enlighten me as to how the connection works? TIA
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t have to visit your blog to read your post if I am a subscriber. I can click a “like” button or a sharing button without visiting the blog. I don’t have to click in to include a link to your post in a post of my own either. Each time you publish new content on your blog, your followers receive an update, either on their Read Blogs page or via email (or both, depending on their settings). There are several different ways that readers can start following your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/followers/

So they can see the whole post without actually coming here? They get the entire content from their “like” button? that would explain it. Thank you once again, timethief, for your very helpful answer.
I shall also finish reading your links.

What I do is set my RSS Feed to “summary” on this page > Settings > Reading
For each article in a feed, show
