Facebook link at top of wordpress site
-
I have a question. Because somehow I have a link to a facebook acount of Black Rebel White Rebel at the top of my
wordpress page. But I deleted that facebook account to create an official ‘page’ at facebook. See: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Black-Rebel-White-Rebel/120029058091598 (instead of a profile)But I don’t know anymore how I put that link at the top of my page, or how it got there. Because I want to change that link to my ‘page’ link at facebook.
Does anyone know how to do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks as though you solved your problem — I see only a facebook link in your sidebar which appears to be leading to the right place — is this correct, or do you still need assistance?
-
Yes the link in the sidebar is correct, that’s going to the right place.
Then I think it maybe it had to do something with ‘sharing’. Because you can share your wordpress profile with facebook. You know, that when you post something, it alsp apears on the linked facebook page.
But I think that’s still connected to the facebook page I deleted. ‘Cause that’s the only thing I can think of..I logged out, and still it appeard on the top of my page. But what I can’t figure out is how to change the ‘sharing’ link.

You are using Elegant Grunge & it has the “home” page in that corner. Look under pages in your dashboard & see if the FB link is there.

I am using Firefox 5.0.1 and see the same thing mmadfan states above ie. I see only a Facebook like box in your sidebar. I do not see a Facebook link at the top of your blog. This suggests you need to clear your browser. Have you tried these troubleshooting tips? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/ -
@timethief
At the very top left of the blog in the black section, it says “Black Rebel White Rebel facebook” and if you click on it, it takes you to a page not found in Facebook. I just cleared my cookies & tried in both IE9 & Firefox & it was there both places. -
I cleaned my browser, I deleted my cookies and my cache files. But still it shows on top of my page. I even tried it at Firefox, but there it also shows my facebook link at the top of the page.
I have absolutely no idea how I could ever change the homepage link to my facebook link..
And under pages, there’s only the ‘about’ page where I can tell some info about myself. I don’t see any link to my facebook page there.

@kellywpa
Good grief! Thanks so much because I didn’t even detect that previously. It appears to be a Page tab. All Pages can be accessed edited and deleted but blackrebelwhiterebel states the page has been deleted.@blackrebelwhiterebel
Did you set up a custom menu? If you did then have you deleted that page from the custom menu here > Appearance > Menu
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/If you have deleted it there and also by editing the Page and deleting it > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/ and it still appears then you will need Staff help. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Oh my god.. Thank you guys!!
I fixed it :)
@timethief
I did accidently deleted the home page when I was creating a few extra pages for the sidebar. I thought it was a preview of how it works, and deleted it.
But now I’ve added it again, and now there’s just the homepage link at the top of my page.Thanks alot!!

You’re welcome. I’m sorry I fumbled the ball so to speak as when I first posted I did not detect the link. Thanks to kellywpa for helping resolve this and best wishes to you. :)

Hello,
I’m wondering if you might help me?
I have been trying to add thumbs up ‘like’ buttons to each of my posts.
I have followed links as above,but all I seem to get is ‘share’ buttons.
I’m clearly out of my depth here….I can see below each post in the edit section that the box is ticked for ‘like’ and ‘Share’ but when the post is displayed I can only see ‘Share’
Could you help by telling me where I’m going wrong?
Thanks in advance, Belinda. -
Belinda, you have a choice to put a Facebook Share or Like button (or both). Details here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/#customize-your-servicesP.S. The box you ticked for “like” is probably to enable WordPress.com likes (not the same thing!)

@thecurrys

Thank you airodyssey and timethief,
Now I know how to have BOTH on their thanks to links you shared.
Just another quick question if I may?
Is there anyway you can add a larger ‘Like’ icon directly into the blog itself (after the last word you type) OR am I getting a little carried away?
Thanks Belinda
