Facebook plugin for wordpress hosted instance

I have a wordpress hosted blog and would love to have the facebook comments plugin. Would it be possible to add it in the next update?

No that will not happen as this is why.
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins into them for security reasons. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.
