Facebook preview image and text
-
Hello,
I recently made a website using WordPress. I initially changed the title and description of the page to something that I didn’t like.. and then changed it to what I have now. I also changed the default background image. My problem is.. that when I post my site onto social media (facebook) the OLD title, description and website background image show up on the preview. I would like the NEW information to show up on the website preview. How do I change this?
Thank you,
Jacob DahlThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Jacob –
It sounds like we just need to scrape the URL you’re sharing on to Facebook through their debugger tool. Now, that sounds like a big scary thing but it’s actually quite simple and I can do it for you.
Can you share the exact link you are trying to share on Facebook?

Yes indeed. It’s:
Also, how do I change the symbol in the tab of the browser? Right now it’s the default hostgator symbol.

Your site is actually a self hosted WordPress site, using the WordPress installation + a hosting company. That’s a bit different from what happens here with WordPress.com managed sites.
I’ve run the URL through the Facebook debugging tool and you can go ahead and share the link.
For further help on the site I’ll need to refer you to wordpress.org/support/ as we are only able to support WordPress.com hosted sites on our forum.
Best wishes and good luck at the tournament :)
