Facebook publicize feature fixes?

  I have my blog set up to publicize posts on my Facebook. It used to do so, but the last few posts were not automatically publicized to FB. I can’t find any errors in set up. Can you look for me, or give me extra ideas of how to root out the problem? Thanks,

  Hey Joan,

  That’s odd – the Facebook connection appears to be connected properly. Have you tried this again recently? We recently pushed out some changes to the Publicize settings, but it shouldn’t prevent blog posts from being immediately published to Facebook. If you could, please enable Publicize to Facebook for your next blog post (rather, don’t disable it prior to posting). Let me know if it fails to post, and I’ll investigate further!

  Yes I know, it appears to be set up properly but isn’t working. It has happened several times, my last few posts, and the last one I specifically checked it all before publicizing it. I see now many others are having this problem and asking support questions.

  Also, I had trouble finding your answer here too, never got an email telling me you replied, and just finally found this forum question again.

  Hopefully a fix is coming soon…

  Hi Joan,

  In order to receive email notifications of new posts to this thread, you will need to subscribe using the menu on the right-hand side of the screen. Once you subscribe to the topic, you should receive email notifications.

  Can you try the following?

  1. Disconnect and reconnect your Facebook connection following the instructions here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services

  2. Be sure to enable Facebook publicize on your next post. Currently, it looks like your latest post was on 2/12/14.

  After reconnecting Facebook, I would like to see if the next post publicizes correctly. Can you let me know if it posts successfully or fails to post?

  Yes, still no. It did once but defaults right back to unchecked box next to Publicize on FB

  Hey Joan,

  Currently, the Facebook Publicize option on your blog is not connected. Could you connect it to your blog from your Sharing settings so that I can see it in action?

  Hi, as I see it under Sharing Settings, it is connected, and was before. When I view it under publicize on a post edit screen, as I said above, I connect it, and it defaults back to unchecked. The last one worked, though, so maybe it is working again. If you want to wait for my next post I will let you know how it did.

  Hey Joan,

  Sounds great! Yes, it should default to “checked”. Please let me know if it’s defaulting to “unchecked” or if it fails to work on your next post!
