Facebook publicize link not working

    My latest post does not publicize to Facebook. the FB address has not changed and is correctly set up in the Widget. I am getting an error on my home page saying “Error – Not a valid Facebook Page url”. And therefore my post does not publicize in FB. This appears to be a new problem – one that others are seeing. Any ideas?

    hi,
    Could you please disconnect Facebook from your WordPress.com account and reconnect it back and see if that fixes the issue. Here is a handy document that can help you with disconnecting and reconnecting your Facebook account.

    Also, wanted you to know that, we have seen a lot of issues with publishing to Facebook lately. A quick search in the forums would reveal that for you. Looks like Facebook is tweaking their platform and hence some issues are cropping up. I hear the staff are already in talks with Facebook team regarding the issues. Hopefully these should be resolved soon.

    Thanks for the quick response to my post. I followed the instructions to disconnect and reconnect Facebook, but the Error re “FB page not valid” is still showing on my home page.
    Glad to hear that the staff is on top of this and is working with FB to resolve the issues. I will “patiently” await a resolution! Thanks again.

    Hi Jo,

    I checked your site and I see the error that made your last post not Publicize to Facebook. If you’d like to share that post on Facebook, you’ll need to manually share it by copying a link to the post and pasting it in a new status update there.

    I also see you deleted the old Facebook connection and reconnected to it, which refreshes the connection with Facebook for the next post you publish. Can you please let me know if your next post correctly publicizes to Facebook?

    That error on your site isn’t linked to the Publicize feature. That’s showing because the settings in your Facebook Like Box widget aren’t valid.

    That Facebook like box widget can only be used with Facebook pages, not regular Facebook profiles. Right now, you have a link to your Facebook profile in that widget, which won’t work.

    Hi Rachel,
    Thanks for your reply. I will let you know if my next post publicizes to Facebook as it should.

    As for the FB page not valid – I see how it works now. I changed it to my book page and it displayed just fine. Thanks for setting me straight!

    Again, thanks for the quick replies to my WordPress problems – now if I can just get you to solve all of my problems (jk)!
