Facebook Referrals
-
Hi,
I have a page for my blog on Facebook where I get alot of hits daily, but when I look at my stats, I have 2 or 3 Facebook referrals. Is it not possible to get an accurate count? I would understand if it were 20 or 30, but this is literally hundreds of hits that aren’t accounted for.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t give you any perspective if you don’t give us the link to your blog, starting with http.
-
-
Yet another person that does not seem to know the URL of their blog.
This should work better: http://machronicles.com/
Hint – if links can be clicked on you get faster and more accurate help. An Easter Egg hunt turns off many of those that help in the Forum.

The URL of my blog is www://themaccs.wordpress.com.
http://www.machronicles.com is the pointer that I pay to refer to my blog. -
The URL of your blog is not www://themaccs.wordpress.com which you can verify by clicking on it. It goes nowhere, because that’s a malformed URL.
The URL of your blog is, I would guess, http://themaccs.wordpress.com and you also have http://machronicles.com pointing to the same site. There is no “www” in either.
NOW we can help you.
When you say you have a page on your Facebook, are you posting the entire entries on Facebook? Because in that case, why would anyone click through to the blog? It’s normal for 80% of people who go to a page looking for info to fail to click on the link to the full content, as well. So your actual stats if you’re only posting titles and snippets would be about 20% of the Facebook stats.

I post links from my Blog on the FB page that I created. You
have to click on the link to read the story. FB tells me the
number of times that the story was viewed under each story. They
also tell me the number of daily views that I have each day on the
sidebar. -
But it doesn’t tell you how many people click through the link. Losing 80% of them is normal.
Is the FB page public? Can you copy-paste the link here?
-
Oh, I have something similar myself. Virtually NOBODY ever clicks through those to get to the actual site. The just Like them or whatever based on the part that shows on the page.
So, both your FB and your WP stats seem accurate to me.
-
Actually, People comment to me about them on my personal page.
It would seem that there would have to be some truth to the clicks
that FB is recording, otherwise, all of the articles would have
the same activity refelected from the number of clicks.
Thank you for your time.
