facebook share & stats

  is there a way to find out where my facebook referrals are coming from? my blog has a number of shares from ‘facebook’ and each day more and more people are finding my site via fbook even though i never post on there directly. any clue to figure out some more details?

  Hi. Chances are people are sharing your posts on Facebook through the Share buttons you have. You can actually see which posts are being shared, under Stats > General > Shares. More info here:

  Of course, if the user copied-pasted your post’s URL on their profile, that’s not counted on your stats.

  It looks like there is no way to find out who shared your posts though (or who “likes” them on Facebook):

  Thanks for this! It gives me some idea of who might be sharing links to my blog via facebook..didn’t know about the share button at all.

  One of the issues with Facebook is, unless you’re Friends with everyone who shared your link, you will NEVER be able to see their referrals. I know my privacy settings are like that. So most of the issue is on FB’s side.
