Facebook Share button issue
-
I am trying to add a Facebook Share button on my sidebar.
I created a new Text widget in the Widget section of the Appearance menu. I went to http://www.facebook.com/facebook-widgets/share.php to get the code. I have tried cutting and pasting the “button code” provided, the “link code” provided and this URL:
http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=<url to share>&t=<title of content>
(not all at the same time obviously) into the 2nd box in the Text Widget.
I even changed the u=<url to share> to u=<http://karaoakeathon.wordpress.com>&t=<karaokeathon>
However, when I click “Save”, the html in the 2nd box alters itself, usually truncating most of the syntax. The result is either just code on my webpage, or a the word Share as a hyperlink, which, when clicked opens a Facebook page asking what URL to share. Shouldn’t to already know which URL to share since I typed it into the html?I also tried AddThis, choosing a design that says Share with all the Facebook, MySpace, Gmail, Twitter badges. However, the code I pasted into the Text Widget only shows up with the word Share as a hyperlink without the image of the badges.
Can someone tell me what I may be doing wrong? Or is there something wrong with my blog or the particular theme template I’ve chosen? Please help. This is driving me crazy!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Having 1,000 views per day is enough reason for a WordPress.com blogger to click the “New Post” button. Everyone likes making their post seen by as many people as possible. So, tapping on Social Media is one easy way to boost traffic, swift dissemination, better rankings and extended reach from viewers.Share on Facebook button is one sure way to do it.
