Facebook shares gone when date of post changed

  I had over 1k Facebook shares on this post: https://chronotopeblog.com/2016/05/07/is-effective-teaching-more-about-good-relationships-than-anything-else/

  But then changed the date on the post and suddenly all the shares disappeared. Is there a way to get them back?

  Facebook bases the share counts on the page URL. If the URL is changed, the count will reset.

  Thanks. So if I put back the original URL will the Facebook share count come back?
